Kinsley Updates
9.2.25
After a weekend of seeing her sisters, friends and family over the weekend, the next phase of Kinsley’s treatment has begun and I’m not sure how to describe it except for one word. Brutal.
Updates from Kyle:
At about 1:15 this morning, the doctor told Kyle and Alyssa that Kinsley needs a blood transfusion in order to continue her chemo because her hemoglobin was so low.
She had her IV removed and was told she wouldn’t need another.
Well, at 2:30, she got another one and was also started on another medication that looked “radioactive”. They pushed more fluids and Kinsley was up five times with night terrors and having to use the bathroom. She was connected to everything so it was a race to get her to the potty in time.
Kyle said she’s back to the state she was in when they first got there 12 short, but very long days ago. Lethargic, out of it, doesn’t want to talk.
All around, a very, very hard night and a rough way to start this second phase of treatment for the next 16-21 days.
This morning, she had another lumbar puncture with more chemo.
The doctors are hitting her with everything they have because it’s such an aggressive cancer.
Mom and Dad are exhausted, but they are still there & holding it together as much as possible so when she wakes, they can comfort her and hold her hand.
It’s very hard for them to watch and hear her cries of frustration and pain. Beyond exhaustion, they are heartbroken, sad, mad, scared… everything.
From the outside, we are all feeling the heartbreak with them and a lot of us feel helpless, but we aren’t helpless. We can provide Kyle and Alyssa the time they need to spend with Kinsley and we are!
So many people are rallying around this family and that gives us hope, but most importantly, it gives them both the ability to stay with their daughter.
I know it’s hard to watch them go through this, but this is when we work even harder to HELP them get through it. This is going to be a very long process for them. Everything we do now will help them later.
Keep sharing, tagging and talking to friends, family & co-workers.
Also, if you’re a business, contact me if you want to help.

Here are the updates I can provide today (I will do my best to keep you updated as I can).
Updates:
Kinsley’s website is now up and running. You can access everything from this one site: Zeffy, Tshirts, events and promos that are currently happening.
The site isn’t 100% complete, but I am updating as quickly as possible. Check back as often as you’d like.
Upcoming:
Sun, Sept 21: Kinsley Kicks Cancer comedy fundraiser.
Location:
Portuguese Club
Chicopee, Ma
Time:
Doors open at 4:30
Show at 6:00
We need all hands on deck! If you are touched by Kinsley’s story, start getting your friends, family & co-workers together to fill a table.
We are currently at 55/350 tickets sold. That means over the next 18 days, we need to get 16 people to reserve a seat or reserve two tables!
Thanks to everyone who has already reserved!!
Sun, Sept 28: Shave Your Head for Kinsley!
Location:
Za Za Green Dispensary
Page Blvd, Springfield
Time: 11 am
We need fifty (50!) really BRAVE people to shave their heads so Kinsley can see what it looks like to have BRAVE friends that are willing to share her courage and do something scary!
We will document every single haircut and send before and after pictures to Kinsley to hang on her wall at the hospital. I can’t think of anything more powerful than a group of people shaving their heads for a kid who is dealing with this much pain!
For the ladies: if you don’t want to shave your head, but you have long hair, you can also participate. Pledge to cut 8” and we will send your hair to a wig company who helps cancer patients.
Flyer & Forms:
I should have these out within the next couple of days. This will be my main job tomorrow.
Goal: Get your friends, family & co-workers to make a pledge to see you get your head shaved.
If you are interested in this, let me know so I can start making a list.
Both Steph and I (and Kyle) are planning to SHAVE OUR HEADS! I can promise you this is NOT a good look for me, but I’m going to be BRAVE for Kinsley who has no choice in losing her hair.
Do you have the guts to do it? Can you do it? Will you do it to show Kinsley how strong she is?
All of September:
Wicked Tan Boutique is offering to give 50% of their sales to help Kinsley!
October:
We will continue to share the links to Zeffy & Kinsley’s Krew Shop.
November 1: Softball Tournament
Brandon Michael got 10 teams together for Kinsley. All proceeds will go to the family! Details coming soon!
Nov 8: Jordan Gladu is teaming up with Vanished Valley for another big night of fundraising for Kinsley. Proceeds will go to Kinsley & her family.
This Kinsley’s Krew is incredible! I’ve seen parents having to commute to Boston to get while one stays behind to pay the bills. At some point, that will probably have to happen, but the more we can raise, the more longer they can both stay with Kinsley.
That’s the goal. Let’s make it happen!!
